What is the difference between brand strategy and designing a logo?

A written positioning document, an audience and messaging framework, tone-of-voice rules with worked examples, and any naming shortlists with availability notes. If Brand Guidelines are in scope you also get the editable source file in Figma or InDesign plus a PDF for circulation. It is a working document, not a presentation you file and forget.

Do we own the work, including any names you develop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on final payment. The strategy, the messaging and the naming candidates transfer to you with the editable source files; we do not licence brand work back to clients or withhold sources to keep you dependent. Trademark registration itself is a legal step we prepare the ground for but do not perform.

How many revision rounds are included?

Accepted Answer

Two structured rounds per stage, with each stage signed off before the next starts. That discipline matters more here than in visual work, because reopening positioning after the messaging framework is written means rewriting everything downstream. Anything outside the agreed scope is quoted before we begin it.

How long does a brand strategy project take?

Accepted Answer

For a small or mid-sized company, typically three to five weeks: roughly a week of research and interviews, a week to draft and stress-test the positioning, then messaging, tone and guidelines. Naming adds one to two weeks, because shortlists need availability checks and a second look once everyone has cooled off.

Almost always, and it is usually the right call. Most companies have equity in one or two elements — a colour, a name, a mark customers recognise — and the real problem is inconsistent application and unclear messaging rather than the identity itself. We audit what is worth keeping before proposing anything new.

When is a rebrand justified rather than a refresh?

A refresh is right when the position still holds and only the execution has drifted: dated type, inconsistent colour, a mark that collapses at small sizes. A rebrand is justified when what you sell, who you sell to or who owns the company has genuinely changed, or when the name blocks a new market legally or linguistically. Why do brand guidelines get ignored inside companies?

Because they are written for other designers and run to eighty pages. The people who need them daily are an intern making an Instagram post and a printer asking for a file, and neither reads past page three. We front-load exactly what those two need and push the theory into an appendix nobody is required to read.

How do we roll a new brand out without losing recognition?

Accepted Answer

By sequencing it. Change the highest-frequency touchpoints first — website, social profiles, invoices, email signatures, packaging already in production — and keep one continuity element such as colour, mark or name visible throughout the transition. A staged plan with a written asset inventory is what stops half your channels sitting on the old logo a year later.

Do you handle naming, and do you check trademarks?

We develop and shortlist names, check domain and social handle availability, screen for obvious conflicts and for meanings that misfire in Turkish, German, Arabic or Urdu. Formal clearance and registration is work for a trademark attorney; we prepare the candidates and the relevant classes so that step is short and inexpensive.

Can you build a brand that works across several languages, including Arabic?

Yes — we design and maintain our own five-language brand system, Arabic and Urdu RTL included. A multilingual brand needs a script-appropriate typeface pairing, a bilingual lockup that is deliberately designed rather than mirrored, and a name checked for pronunciation and meaning in each market. These are strategy decisions, not things to patch after launch.
